Amalia Skyberg, Ph.D.

Postdoctoral Scholar

Amalia Skyberg is a postdoctoral scholar in Psychology. She earned her Ph.D. in Psychology at the University of Virginia in 2022 with a concentration in quantitative methods. Her dissertation work combined neuroimaging, epigenetics, and developmental psychology to identify biological markers of social maturation. Broadly, her research interests are to understand the underlying biological mechanisms and brain systems that support social-emotional development with a particular focus on individual differences. She is especially interested in understanding how early life experiences, epigenetic modifications, and hormonal physiology interact and give rise to differential trajectories of neural development.
