Lydia Austin, B.S.

Project Coordinator

Lydia graduated from Flagler College in 2021 with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and minor in Biology. In undergrad, she assisted in longitudinal research on local Atlantic Bottlenose dolphins. She also assisted in the Young Parent Initiative for young, low income, BIPOC parents in Mecklenburg county North Carolina, taking qualitative data to inform local organizations intending to better serve this population. She has assisted in the processing of epigenetic data for the TAG study, and her primary research interests include the impact of epigenetic mechanisms on the development of mental illness, primarily eating and affective disorders. Outside the lab, she enjoys reading non-fiction, hiking, baking, and live music.
