Maddie Goldberg, B.S.
Doctoral Student, Department of Psychology
Maddie is a Developmental Psychology PhD student in the DSN Lab. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2021 with a B.S. in Psychology and was awarded a competitive post-baccalaureate Intramural Research Training Award (IRTA) Fellowship at the National Institutes of Mental Health. Under a co-mentorship between the Sections on Integrative Neuroimaging and Behavioral Endocrinology, Maddie served as a co-lead IRTA for a large-scale, longitudinal study of endocrine and neurobiological events accompanying puberty. Her research focuses on positive valence systems as they inform adolescent decision-making, and more specifically, the relationships between endogenous pubertal processes and the underlying neural substrates of adolescent reward-processing. She is an advocate for substance use harm reduction, women’s health disparities, and all things Taylor Swift.
